Do you know this? You are confronted with countless to-dos in your daily life and you are always in danger of getting lost in the “small stuff” of everyday life? And often you are dissatisfied in the evening, because you have not achieved many of the things you had planned to do?
I have the firm intention to approach each week with focus, with the goal of working on the things that bring me and my company closer to the goals.
Therefore, it is fundamental for me to not only work “right”, but to do the right things while doing so!
I firmly believe that it helps to keep making plans. For me, this works best when I create a to-do list (here are my tool tips) for the upcoming week on Fridays.
In doing so, I ask myself the following question:
Which three tasks are the most important to get closer to my goals?
This sharpens my focus and I know which tasks I want to prioritize in the coming week.
You probably remember the Pareto Principle: 80% of results come from 20% of actions.
If you want to work on getting closer to your goals and achieving them more efficiently and quickly, start with this task:
Set an appointment for the end of the week (ideally Friday afternoon).
In this appointment you look at your goals and then create your to-do list based on them.
Take 15 minutes to identify the three most important tasks for the coming week.
After the first week, you look back and take stock:
Were you able to complete your top 3 tasks? What might have been the problem? What can you change? Establish this process for a few weeks and it will make you better bit by bit.
But do not put yourself under unnecessary pressure. There may be some resistance in you, so feel free to practice a little longer to integrate this routine into your weekly routine. If you do, you will achieve goals you never imagined…
